Optiver Beat the Odds Practice Test: Probability and Judgement Guide
Twenty multiple choice probability questions with ninety seconds per item, no return to earlier prompts, and Optiver style scoring. You gain one point for a correct answer, lose one point for a wrong answer, and score zero for a skip or time out. This page explains the format and links to QuantKing practice. The real Optiver assessment is not hosted or recorded here.
Pair this with Optiver NumberLogic practice, SIG Quant style drills, and other online assessments for broader screening practise.

What is Optiver Beat the Odds?
What is it
Beat the Odds is a probability focused multiple choice screen used in Optiver's hiring process. Questions test fast recognition of distributions, symmetry, expected value shortcuts, and simple counting logic under time pressure.
QuantKing practice gives twenty questions with ninety seconds each so you can rehearse pace discipline. Each question shows Question time left from 1:30, and the question skips automatically when time reaches zero.
How it works
You always move forward and cannot return to earlier questions. Each item offers five numeric answers and a Skip option. Wrong answers lose one point, skips and time out score zero, and correct answers add one point.
Solutions and worked explanations appear only after you finish all twenty questions, so the timed phase mirrors assessment pressure.
For arithmetic speed work, see Optiver's 80 in 8 or Zap N practice.
How to prepare
Practise core probability patterns such as uniform sums, dice symmetry, inclusion and exclusion, short random walks, and simple ruin setups, until recognition takes seconds rather than minutes.
Track your net score under minus scoring so you know when a skip is better than a low confidence guess.
